I’m back

I haven’t been on in a really long time. I just haven’t had the time or the access to a computer to be able to post much. I recently just got a job as a secretary and ad taker at the Oberlin News  Tribune and I enjoy my job. Granted I really would like to be a reporter and but this is a stepping stone in that direction until i can get the money to go back to school and finish. Life has been stressful and chaotic which is nothing new. I now have my brother at home with us and he makes life more bearable and enjoyable. I am working on a several different things. I still have my book that I was planning on writing, my characters haven’t given me direction so i have been working on two other stories. These are short stories nothing that I think will be a book but I write to write. I also have been working on a memoir, or creative non fiction essay. It’s about my life and the things that I have faced and still do face.

The Ohio State University Marching Band honored the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address during a home game finale Saturday, with members assembling in the shape of “1863,” the Lincoln memorial, and Civil War soldiers marching with the American flag, riding on horseback, and firing a cannon.

The football team also beat the Indiana Hoosiers 42 – 14.

The Great Gatsby Covers: A Brief History

I love old book covers. It gives so much history and background into the times.

101 Books

A novel like The Great Gatsby, which is nearly 90 years old and is one of the most successful novels of all time, inevitably will have dozens of covers over the years.

I love looking back at all of the different interpretations of the novel through cover design. You might remember, we’ve looked at covers before with The Sound and the Fury and Neuromancerand The Grapes of Wrath.

I dug through the interwebs looking for legitimate covers of the novel, but keep in mind that a lot of people like to make their own redesigns. Just for kicks, I guess. I believe I’ve filtered out all of those, but one or two might have sneaked in. So what’s Gatsby’s cover looked like over the years?
